The mobile bitcoin wallet project Samourai , is partnering with Nodl the French hardware retailer in a new innovation to create a bitcoin node device that syncs with Samourai’s privacy-centric mobile wallet.
According to our reporter, Nodl co-founder called Michel Luczak said this new product will come as a “full, self-validating, bitcoin and lightning node” which will make people not to rely on Samourai wallets servers but allows the usage of mobile app.
Critics argue that the wallet’s privacy features are insufficient if users’ transaction data is stored on a centralized server which has been a contention.
Information from Samourai Wallet team told Bitcoinafrica.io that new nodes devices will be made available this year and secondly, Nodl node owners will be able to update their devices to add up Samourai Wallet’s Dojo software. The Dojo software with a feature called Whirlpool, will be included in batches bitcoin transactions together across wallets in order to confuse the source of funds.
‘Whirlpool desktop mixing’ will also be preloaded in addition to Dojo being preloaded into Nodl devices. It will allow users to access and manage their Samourai Wallet mixing on their desktop,” the Samourai team stated.
The partnership comes as Nodl sales see an upward trend, according to Luczak, as they expect to sell roughly 500 devices in 2019 if the current move continues.
Speaking further Luczak said “There will now be a one-click install mixing service that’s available to anyone for the first time,”
Katana Cryptographic, had earlier on in this month announced its first venture funding round: a $100,000 investment from Cypherpunk Holdings. Katana Cryptographic is the company behind Samourai project.
