Coinbase Launches Mobile Push Alerts for Crypto Price Swings

It’s now a matter of ‘different day, different upgrade in the crypto space’. From different wallets with more unique features to crypto platforms offering different incentives to users and now a new push notification feature by Coinbase has been introduced. Coinbase had introduced in the past, services such as its watchlist, which allows users to customize how market data is presented.

Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Coinbase is a digital currency exchange that brokers exchange of Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, and Litecoin with fiat currencies in approximately 32 countries, and bitcoin transactions and storage in 190 countries worldwide. They have introduced a new feature to their mobile app that can alert users of price swings and market fluctuations in cryptocurrencies supported by the exchange startup.

These alerts are automatically generated messages providing real-time market performance to assist investors and Coinbase clients without the hassle of shifting between different websites and apps. Prior to this upgrade, the startup had offered price alerts for a limited number of assets. Currently, the coinbase platform supports 22 digital assets.

A Coinbase representative stated in an interview, “Customers asked for real-time price alerts natively in the Coinbase app to address the inconvenience of having to check multiple sources for crypto market information,” and he added that “Real-time price alerts available natively in the Coinbase app streamlines access to information that helps customers make more informed investment decisions.”

Regarding the conciseness of the alerts; just as one would get a bank alert with relevant information of credit or debit, amount received or sent and the likes, the company stated that information regarding the percentage change of price swings, the time duration of the fluctuation and the current token valuation are all that is included.

Coinbase said the new feature was developed internally and will be combined with the in-app news and asset pages allowing users to opt in or out of the feature and choose which assets to track. In the future, price alerts will include assets that aren’t currently tradeable on the exchange yet as ‘Coinbase expects to expand’.
